About

Mine is not the typical artist’s story.

I was born in a communist country, and at this time in Poland being an artist was not appreciated.  There was considerable corruption, and opportunities for women artists were very limited.  When I reached the time to make decisions about my life and career, pragmatism and practicality led me to business school.  I obtained the equivalency of a master’s degree.

I joined an international paper company and worked as a business and sales manager for over twenty years.  After the company was sold I revisited my personal goals and desires, and at the age of 44 I moved to Wisconsin.  This was when my story as an artist  began.

After arriving here I was living in an apartment in the country.  Outside my window were pretty horses, and to help pass the time I started sketching them with pencil.  They lacked color, which motivated me to move beyond just drawing and start oil painting.  Painting with oils I found to be the most challenging and most spectacular technique.  This soon turned into my passion.  During this difficult time of transition to another country I found painting to be my solace, and a perfect way to express myself.

Several years later I fell in love, and I got married in 2014.  This afforded me some security, and I found myself suddenly devoted entirely to art.

I took art classes from the Art School Inc, where I learned how to artistically mix colors and hone my techniques.   For the most part, though, my style is self taught with trial and error, patience and commitment.  On average my painting take at least six months to complete.

The primary subjects of my paintings for many years were feminine women with unique fashion and style.  I have also routinely painted animals, primarily dogs and horses.  More recently I have created unique images that are more surreal.  Art has been a true love for me.

My hope is for my art to become a magical addition to people’s homes and lives.
